Sir William Stephenson Agricultural Research Centre
Paterson GlobalFoods’ commitment to customer service and innovative technologies led to the construction of the Sir William Stephenson Agricultural Research Centre, a new proprietary crop research and development facility.
The Sir William Stephenson Agricultural Research Centre was strategically established to help PGF customers meet the changing demands of the agriculture marketplace by demonstrating the latest advancements in crop research and production practices. Paterson believes that by connecting growers to end users, we can equip our customers with the strategic support needed to readily meet end user requirements with confidence.
What Makes This Research Centre Unique
The primary objective of the Research Centre will be to demonstrate crops and crop production practices that are strategic to Paterson GlobalFoods and our customers. As a PGF customer, the centre will specifically address local grower’s production challenges and provide “hands on” experience with the best crop production products available on the market today.
The Research Centre strives to provide our customers with access to innovative technologies such as remote sensing tools, crop modeling software, daily satellite imagery, and cutting-edge water management strategies. These technologies allow for the creation of compelling narratives for production trials and give growers the ability to view up-and-coming advancements in the industry.
The centre also facilitates research between PGF and our industry partners to further the direction of future farming practices. As an example, we are currently in partnership with Warburtons and the University of Manitoba to evaluate how nitrogen and application practices influence protein quantity and quality in spring wheat.
